Maka orang Israel berseru meminta pertolongan Tuhan lalu Tuhan membangkitkan bagi mereka seorang penyelamat daripada bani Benyamin iaitu Ehud anak Gera seorang yang kidal Melaluinya orang Israel mengirimkan ufti kepada Eglon raja Moab

Tetapi pada malam itu datanglah seorang tua yang pulang dari pekerjaannya di ladang Lelaki itu berasal dari pergunungan Efraim dan tinggal sebagai pendatang di Gibea manakala penduduk setempat ialah warga daripada bani Benyamin
