Lalu orang Israel berbuat jahat di mata Tuhan dan mereka melupakan Tuhan Allah mereka dan menyembah Baal dan Asyera

AV: And the children <01121> of Israel <03478> did <06213> (8799) evil <07451> in the sight <05869> of the LORD <03068>, and forgat <07911> (8799) the LORD <03068> their God <0430>, and served <05647> (8799) Baalim <01168> and the groves <0842>.

1 Kings 15:13

Bahkan dia juga memecat Maakha neneknya daripada kedudukan bonda permaisuri kerana Maakha membuat patung kekejian bagi Asyera Asa menebang patung keji itu dan membakarnya di Lembah Kidron

Sekarang kumpulkanlah semua orang Israel lalu temui aku di Gunung Karmel Ajak pula empat ratus lima puluh orang nabi Baal itu dan empat ratus orang nabi Asyera yang mendapat makanan dari meja Izebel

Dia menempatkan patung ukiran Asyera yang telah dibuatnya di dalam Bait padahal Tuhan telah berfirman kepada Daud dan kepada Salomo anaknya Di dalam Bait ini dan di Yerusalem yang telah Kupilih daripada kalangan semua suku Israel Aku akan menegakkan nama-Ku untuk selama-lamanya

2 Kings 23:7

Dia merobohkan pula ruangan khusus bagi kaum pelacur lelaki kuil yang ada di Bait Tuhan di mana kaum wanita menenun kain tabir bagi Asyera
