Judges 2:12

Mereka meninggalkan Tuhan Allah nenek moyang mereka yang telah membawa mereka keluar dari Tanah Mesir lalu menyembah tuhan-tuhan yang disembah umat lain Dengan itu mereka membangkitkan murka Tuhan

Tuhan akan mengajar Israel seperti mensiang yang bergoyang-goyang di air Dia akan mencabut Israel daripada tanah yang baik ini yang telah dikurniakan-Nya kepada nenek moyangnya Dia akan menyerakkan mereka ke seberang Sungai Efrat kerana mereka telah membuat patung-patung Asyera dan membangkitkan murka Tuhan

Hal itu terjadi kerana dosa-dosa Yerobeam yang dilakukannya sendiri dan yang menyebabkan orang Israel pun turut berdosa dan kerana dia membangkitkan murka Tuhan Allah Israel

Hal itu terjadi kerana semua dosa Baesa dan dosa Ela anaknya baik yang dilakukan mereka sendiri mahupun yang menyebabkan orang Israel berdosa sehingga mereka membangkitkan murka Tuhan Allah Israel dengan berhala-berhala mereka

Kemudian Ahab membuat patung Asyera bahkan banyak hal yang lain sehingga dia membangkitkan murka Tuhan Allah Israel lebih daripada semua Raja Israel yang pernah ada sebelum dirinya
