kemudian hendaklah imam menyuruh perempuan itu bersumpah dengan sumpah kutukan dan berkata kepada perempuan itu Semoga Tuhan membuat kamu menjadi kutukan dan sumpah seranah di tengah-tengah kalangan bangsamu ketika Tuhan menyusutkan pahamu serta membuncitkan perutmu

Kemudian hendaklah imam menuliskan kutukan itu pada segulungan kertas lalu menghapuskannya dengan air pahit

Setelah perempuan itu disuruhnya meminum air tersebut maka akan tersingkaplah segalanya jika perempuan itu ternyata telah menodai dirinya dan tidak setia kepada suaminya maka air yang mendatangkan kutukan itu yang masuk ke dalam tubuhnya akan menyebabkan rasa sakit yang pedih sehingga perutnya membuncit dan pahanya menyusut Perempuan itu pun akan menjadi kutukan dalam kalangan bangsanya
