Akan Kuserakkan kamu antara kalangan bangsa itu dan akan Aku menghunuskan pedang mengejar kamu Negerimu akan menjadi sunyi sepi dan kota-kotamu akan menjadi reruntuhan

Joshua 8:6

Selepas itu Saul berhenti mengejar orang Filistin lalu orang Filistin pun pulang ke tempat mereka

Abner berseru kepada Yoab katanya Haruskah pedang tidak henti-henti makan Tidakkah engkau tahu bahawa hal itu akan berakhir dengan kepahitan Berapa lama lagi engkau enggan menyuruh pasukan itu berhenti mengejar saudara-saudara mereka
