Mertua Musa iaitu Yitro imam di Midian mendengar tentang semua pekerjaan Allah terhadap Musa dan terhadap Israel umat-Nya iaitu bahawa Tuhan telah membawa orang Israel keluar dari Mesir

Ketika mertua Musa melihat semua pekerjaan Musa atas umat itu berkatalah dia Apakah yang kaulakukan terhadap umat ini Mengapakah engkau sendiri sahaja yang menjadi hakim sementara seluruh umat itu berdiri di hadapanmu dari pagi sampai petang
