Masa berlalu dan Yusuf meninggal dan begitu jugalah halnya dengan semua saudaranya dan kalangan orang Israel yang satu keturunan dengannya

Bani penentang berkhemah setentang dengan orang Israel lalu memusnahkan hasil tanaman secara meluas sampai Gaza maka di Israel tiada bahan makanan domba lembu ataupun keldai

Mereka pun lari dari depan orang Israel itu ke arah gurun Akan tetapi mereka tidak dapat menghindari pertempuran itu kerana orang Israel dari kota-kota pula menyerang mereka di tengah-tengah kalangan mereka sendiri
