Ketika Daud pulang untuk memberkati keluarganya keluarlah Mikhal anak Saul menemui Daud dan berkata Alangkah mulianya raja Israel hari ini Dia bertelanjang diri di hadapan mata budak-budak perempuan para pegawainya pada hari ini seperti seorang tidak bertamadun yang bertelanjang diri tanpa rasa malu

Kata Daud kepada Mikhal Sebagai tanda syukur aku menari-nari bagi Tuhan yang telah memilih aku dan bukan memilih ayahmu atau sesiapa daripada seluruh keluarganya untuk menjadi pemimpin umat Tuhan Israel Dengan itu aku akan terus menari-nari bagi Tuhan

Maka sekarang ya Tuhan Allah biarlah firman yang Kauucapkan tentang hamba-Mu ini dan tentang keluarganya teguh untuk selama-lamanya Lakukanlah seperti yang Kaufirmankan itu

Pada zaman Daud berlakulah kebuluran selama tiga tahun berturut-turut Oleh itu Daud mencari petunjuk daripada Tuhan Lalu Tuhan berfirman Hal itu berlaku kerana Saul dan keluarganya berhutang darah kerana dahulunya dia pernah membunuh umat Gibeon

Jawab orang Gibeon kepadanya Perkara yang ada antara kami dengan Saul dan keluarganya bukanlah perkara emas atau perak Kami pun tidak ada niat membunuh sesiapa di Israel Lalu berkatalah Daud Apa yang kamu katakan akan kulakukan bagimu
