Nehemiah 7:3

Kataku kepada mereka Jangan dibuka pintu-pintu gerbang Yerusalem sebelum matahari panas dan sewaktu para pengawal pintu-pintu itu sedang bertugas arahkan mereka menutup dan memalang kesemua pintu Tempatkanlah para penjaga daripada kalangan penduduk Yerusalem di tempat penjagaan masing-masing dan di depan rumah masing-masing

Nehemiah 13:19

Apabila menjelang hari Sabat dan gelap mula berbayang pada pintu-pintu gerbang Yerusalem aku memerintahkan agar pintu-pintu itu ditutup dan tidak dibuka sehingga berlalunya Sabat Kemudian kutempatkan beberapa orang anak buahku di pintu-pintu gerbang supaya jangan ada muatan yang masuk pada hari Sabat

Sesungguhnya batinku seperti anggur yang belum dibuka seperti kirbat anggur baru yang hampir meletup

Apabila raja hendak mengolah korban bakaran sukarela atau korban kedamaian sukarela bagi Tuhan maka pintu gerbang yang menghadap ke timur harus dibuka baginya Dia harus mempersembahkan korban bakaran dan korban kedamaiannya seperti yang dilakukannya pada hari Sabat kemudian keluar Setelah dia keluar pintu gerbang itu harus ditutup
