Ezra 7:14

Engkau diutus oleh raja dan ketujuh-tujuh orang penasihatnya untuk menyelidiki Yehuda dan Yerusalem menurut hukum Allahmu yang ada padamu

Ezra 7:17

Pergunakanlah wang itu dengan saksama untuk membeli lembu-lembu jantan yang muda domba-domba jantan serta anak-anak domba dengan persembahan bahan makanan dan persembahan minumannya Persembahkanlah semua itu di atas mazbah dalam bait Allahmu di Yerusalem

Jawab orang Kasdim itu kepada raja Tidak ada seorang pun di bumi ini yang sanggup memenuhi permintaan Raja Tidak pernah raja mana-mana pun yang besar dan berkuasa meminta yang demikian daripada ahli ilmu ghaib ahli mantera atau orang Kasdim mana pun

Sebagaimana tuanku lihat bahawa sebuah batu terbelah daripada gunung tetapi bukan oleh tangan manusia lalu memecahkan besi gangsa tanah liat perak dan emas itu demikianlah Allah Yang Maha Besar telah memberitahukan kepada Raja apa yang akan terjadi pada kemudian hari Mimpi itu benar dan tafsirannya pun dapat dipercayai

Maka sebaik sahaja seluruh rakyat mendengar suara nafiri seruling kecapi rebab gambus dan pelbagai jenis muzik maka orang daripada segala suku bangsa dan bahasa sujud menyembah patung emas yang telah didirikan oleh Raja Nebukadnezar

Pada waktu itu juga datanglah beberapa orang Kasdim melontarkan tuduhan terhadap orang Yahudi

Daniel 5:12

Memang pada orang itu didapati roh yang luar biasa pengetahuan dan akal budi untuk mentafsirkan mimpi memecahkan teka-teki dan menghuraikan persoalan yang sulit Dialah Daniel yang diberi nama Beltsazar oleh sang raja Sekarang biarlah Daniel dipanggil maka dia akan memberitahukan tafsiran tulisan itu

Daniel 5:22

Namun begitu tuanku anaknya Belsyazar keturunannya masih tidak merendahkan hati sungguhpun tuanku mengetahui semua hal itu

Akibatnya para penyelia lain itu serta para wakil raja berusaha mencari alasan untuk menjatuhkan Daniel dalam hal pemerintahan Akan tetapi mereka tidak dapat sesuatu alasan atau kesalahan sedemikian lantaran kesetiaan Daniel bahkan tidak didapati sesuatu kesilapan atau kesalahan padanya

Apabila Daniel mengetahui bahawa surat itu telah ditandatangani masuklah dia ke rumahnya Dalam bilik atasnya terdapat jendela-jendela yang terbuka menghadap Yerusalem Tiga kali sehari dia bertelut berdoa dan mengucap syukur kepada Allahnya seperti yang biasa dilakukannya selama ini
