manakala nama perempuan Midian yang dibunuh itu ialah Kozbi anak Zur Zur ialah seorang ketua suku daripada kaum keluarga orang Midian

Numbers 31:7

Lalu seperti yang diperintahkan Tuhan kepada Musa berperanglah mereka melawan orang Midian dan membunuh setiap lelaki

Setiap kali orang Israel selesai menyemai benih tanaman orang Midian orang Amalek dan orang dari sebelah timur akan tiba menggempur mereka

Judges 6:13

Gideon pun menjawab Ya Tuan jika Tuhan menyertai kami mengapakah kesemua petaka ini menimpa kami Di manakah segala mukjizat-Nya yang diceritakan nenek moyang kami kepada kami ketika mereka berkata Bukankah Tuhan telah membawa kita keluar dari Mesir Tetapi sekarang Tuhan meninggalkan kami dan menyerahkan kami ke dalam cengkaman orang Midian

Tuhan berpaling kepadanya dan berfirman Pergilah dengan kekuatanmu ini dan selamatkanlah orang Israel daripada cengkaman orang Midian Bukankah Aku mengutus engkau

Judges 6:33

Maka berhimpunlah kesemua orang Midian dan orang Amalek serta puak-puak dari sebelah timur lalu mereka menyeberang dan berkhemah di Lembah Yizreel

Judges 7:1

Maka Yerubaal iaitu Gideon dan kesemua orang yang menyertainya bangun pagi-pagi lalu mereka berkhemah di sisi mata air Harod manakala orang Midian berkhemah di lembah dekat bukit More di utara tempat itu

Judges 7:2

Berfirmanlah Tuhan kepada Gideon Terlalu ramai warga bersama-samamu daripada jumlah yang Aku kehendaki untuk menyerahkan orang Midian ke dalam tangan mereka kelak orang Israel bukan memuliakan Aku tetapi memegah-megahkan diri mereka dan berkata Tanganku sendirilah yang menyelamatkan aku

AV: And the LORD <03068> said <0559> (8799) unto Gideon <01439>, The people <05971> that [are] with thee [are] too many <07227> for me to give <05414> (8800) the Midianites <04080> into their hands <03027>, lest Israel <03478> vaunt <06286> (8691) themselves against me, saying <0559> (8800), Mine own hand <03027> hath saved <03467> (8689) me.

Judges 7:7

Lalu berfirmanlah Tuhan kepada Gideon Akan Aku selamatkan kamu dengan tiga ratus orang yang menghirup itu dan ke dalam tangan kamu akan Aku serahkan orang Midian itu jadi biarkanlah kesemua warga yang lain itu pulang ke kediaman masing-masing

Judges 7:8

Warga tiga ratus orang itu mengambil bekal dan sangkakala dan Gideon menyuruh kesemua orang Israel selebihnya untuk pulang ke khemah masing-masing tetapi warga tiga ratus orang itu dikekalkan bersama-samanya Adapun perkhemahan orang Midian terletak di lembah di bawah tempat dia berada

Ketika Gideon sampai di situ kebetulan seseorang sedang menceritakan mimpinya kepada temannya Katanya Aku bermimpi bahawa ada sekeping roti barli menggolek masuk ke perkhemahan orang Midian lalu melanggar menterbalikkan dan meranapkan khemah itu

Judges 7:14

Temannya menjawab Itu tidak lain daripada pedang Gideon anak Yoas orang Israel itu Allah telah menyerahkan orang Midian dan seluruh perkhemahan ini ke dalam tangannya

Judges 7:15

Segera sesudah Gideon mendengar mimpi itu diceritakan dengan maknanya sujudlah dia menyembah Allah Kemudian dia kembali ke perkhemahan orang Israel lalu berkata Bangunlah kerana Tuhan telah menyerahkan perkhemahan orang Midian ke dalam tanganmu

Judges 7:23

Kemudian dikerahkanlah orang Israel daripada suku Naftali dan suku Asyer serta seluruh suku Manasye untuk mengejar orang Midian itu

Gideon turut mengutus orang ke seluruh pergunungan Efraim dengan pesanan Turunlah menentang orang Midian dan kuasailah semua batang air sampai Bet-Bara dan Sungai Yordan Dengan itu semua orang Efraim dikerahkan lalu mereka menguasai semua batang air sampai ke Bet-Bara dan juga Sungai Yordan

Judges 7:25

Mereka juga berjaya menawan dua orang raja Midian iaitu Oreb dan Zeeb Oreb dibunuh di batuan Oreb dan Zeeb dibunuh di tempat pemerah anggur Zeeb Mereka mengejar orang Midian dan membawa kepala Oreb dan kepala Zeeb kepada Gideon di seberang Sungai Yordan

Judges 8:1

Maka berkatalah bani Efraim kepada Gideon Mengapakah kamu memperlakukan begini terhadap kami Mengapa engkau tidak memanggil kami ketika engkau memerangi orang Midian Lalu mereka membantah dengan kasar terhadapnya
