Ahab berkata kepada Nabot Berilah aku kebun anggurmu itu untuk kujadikan kebun sayur kerana letaknya dekat dengan istanaku Aku akan memberimu kebun anggur yang lebih baik daripada itu sebagai gantinya atau jika engkau lebih suka aku akan membayarnya dengan wang senilai harganya

Jawabnya kepada isterinya Tadi aku berbicara dengan Nabot orang Yizreel itu dan berkata kepadanya Juallah kebun anggurmu kepadaku atau jika engkau lebih suka aku akan memberimu kebun anggur lain sebagai gantinya Tetapi jawabnya Hamba tidak boleh memberikan kepada tuanku kebun anggur hamba itu
