2 Samuel 11:1

Pada musim bunga iaitu masa raja-raja mara untuk berperang Daud mengutus Yoab dan para pegawainya serta seluruh orang Israel untuk berperang Mereka menggempur bani Amon dan mengepung Kota Raba Namun begitu Daud sendiri tidak turut mara tetapi tinggal di Yerusalem

Kemudian datanglah anak buah Yoab mengepungnya di Abel-Bet-Maakha Mereka mendirikan sebuah benteng di hadapan kota itu sedemikian rupa sehingga benteng itu berada dekat dengan tembok kota Seluruh pasukan yang menyertai Yoab pun menggempur tembok itu untuk merobohkannya
