Maka berkatalah Laban kepada Yakub Patutkah kamu bekerja denganku secara percuma hanya kerana kamu saudaraku Katakanlah kepadaku apakah upah yang patut bagimu

Pada pagi harinya ternyatalah kepada Yakub bahawa perempuan itu Lea Lalu berkatalah Yakub kepada Laban Apakah yang pak cik lakukan terhadap aku ini Bukankah aku bekerja dengan pak cik demi mendapatkan Rahel Mengapakah pak cik menipuku

Genapkan dahulu tujuh hari pernikahanmu dengan anakku ini kemudian anakku yang muda itu akan kuberikan juga kepadamu dengan syarat kamu bekerja denganku selama tujuh tahun lagi
