Judges 9:26

Sementara itu Gaal anak Ebed serta saudara-saudaranya berpindah ke kota Sikhem lalu para warga kota Sikhem meletakkan kepercayaan mereka kepadanya

Judges 9:28

Berkatalah Gaal anak Ebed Abimelekh itu siapa dan kita orang Sikhem siapa untuk kita menjadi hambanya Bukankah dia anak Yerubaal dan bukankah Zebul pegawainya Merekalah hamba bani Hamor iaitu ayah Sikhem maka mengapakah kita yang menjadi hambanya

Judges 9:30

Maka naik beranglah Zebul penguasa kota itu apabila mendengar kata-kata Gaal anak Ebed itu

Judges 9:31

Zebul menghantar utusan kepada Abimelekh di Aruma dengan pesanan Gaal anak Ebed dan saudara-saudaranya kini berada di Sikhem dan ketahuilah bahawa mereka menghasut warga kota itu untuk menentang engkau

Judges 9:35

Gaal anak Ebed pergi ke luar dan berdiri di depan pintu gerbang kota itu Pada ketika itu juga Abimelekh dan pasukannya kebetulan keluar dari tempat serangan hendap mereka itu
