Secara senyap-senyap Yosua anak Nun mengutus dua orang pengintip dari Sitim pesannya Pergilah amatilah negeri itu dan kota Yerikho Maka pergilah mereka lalu sampai di rumah seorang pelacur yang bernama Rahab Mereka pun menginap di situ

Beginilah firman Tuhan Berdirilah di jalan-jalan dan amatilah Tanyakanlah jalan-jalan yang dahulukala di mana ada jalan yang baik tempuhlah itu maka jiwamu akan mendapat ketenangan Tetapi mereka berkata Kami tidak mahu melalui jalan itu
