Leviticus 22:9

Para imam wajib memegang teguh kewajipan mereka terhadap-Ku supaya jangan mereka tanggung dosa sehubungan dengan hal itu lalu mati kerananya iaitu atas sebab mereka mencemari kewajipan itu Akulah Tuhan yang menyucikan mereka

tetapi orang Lewi harus berkhemah di sekeliling Khemah Suci tempat loh hukum supaya jangan umat Israel tertimpa murka Jadi orang Lewi harus menunaikan kewajipan mereka memelihara Khemah Suci tempat loh hukum itu

Namun demikian mereka boleh membantu saudara mereka yang sedang menunaikan kewajipan masing-masing di Khemah Pertemuan tetapi mereka tidak lagi melakukan pekerjaan itu Demikianlah kewajipan yang harus kamu tugaskan kepada bani Lewi
