Leviticus 16:30

kerana pada hari itu akan diadakan pendamaian bagi kamu untuk menyucikan kamu Kamu akan disucikan di hadapan Tuhan daripada segala dosamu

Numbers 8:7

Hendaklah kamu lakukan begini terhadap mereka demi menyucikan mereka Percikkanlah pada mereka air penyucian lalu suruhlah mereka mencukur sekujur tubuh dan mencuci pakaian mereka

Setelah itu barulah bani Lewi boleh masuk untuk melaksanakan pekerjaan di Khemah Pertemuan iaitu setelah kamu menyucikan mereka dan mempersembahkan mereka sebagai persembahan unjukan

Bani Lewi pun menyucikan diri masing-masing daripada dosa serta mencuci pakaian masing-masing lalu Harun mempersembahkan mereka sebagai persembahan unjukan di hadapan Tuhan dan mengadakan pendamaian bagi mereka untuk menyucikan mereka
