Leviticus 16:8

Hendaklah Harun mencabut undi atas kedua-dua ekor kambing jantan itu satu undi bagi Tuhan dan satu undi lagi bagi Azazel

Leviticus 16:10

Akan tetapi kambing jantan yang terundi bagi Azazel hendaklah ditempatkan hidup-hidup di hadapan Tuhan untuk upacara pendamaian lalu dilepaskan ke gurun untuk Azazel

Sementara itu hendaklah orang yang melepaskan kambing jantan bagi Azazel tadi mencuci pakaiannya dan membasuh tubuhnya dengan air Sesudah itu barulah dia boleh masuk ke perkhemahan
