Jeremiah 40:4

Sekarang lihatlah hari ini aku melepaskan engkau daripada rantai di tanganmu Jika menurutmu baik untuk pergi ke Babel bersamaku marilah Aku akan mengurus engkau Tetapi jika menurutmu tidak baik untuk pergi bersama-samaku ke Babel tinggallah Lihat seluruh negeri ini terbuka bagimu Pergilah ke tempat yang baik dan tepat menurutmu

Sebelum Yeremia berbalik dia menambahkan Pulanglah kepada Gedalya anak Ahikam anak Safan yang diangkat raja Babel menjadi pembesar atas kota-kota Yehuda Tinggallah bersama-samanya di tengah-tengah rakyat atau pergilah ke tempat mana-mana pun yang tepat menurutmu Kemudian kepala pasukan pengawal memberinya bekal makanan dan suatu pemberian lalu melepaskan dia pergi
